Most popular show for young children:

Mixed variety show…..something to please everyone!

Young children often have a short attention span….so we feel it is important to offer them a lot of different activities at varied “energy levels.” This is a good way to hold their attention and keep them excited and happy.

SOME SUGGESTED VARIETY ACTIVITIES:

• Hand puppets….each child gets to hold a puppet and learns to make them “speak and sing,” tickle everyone, jump up and down and act very silly,etc…..all kids love to actually be in a puppet show!

• Rhythm instrument parade….each child gets bells, maraccas, tambourines, or clackers, etc. and marches around to celebrate the event.

• Musical movement…dance games, freeze dance, limbo, hokey pokey, etc.

• Parachute games…only appropriate if there is a large space…kids and adults love this….good exercise for all.

• Zany, colorful, age-appropriate magic…..generally for children 3 plus years and up. (We also have magic for older kids.)

• Face painting or temporary tattoos….only if it is age-appropriate and there is enough time allotted.

• Balloon sculpture…not safe for young children who may put balloons in their mouths…..if children are old enough, they can each receive a colorful balloon shape.

These suggestions cannot all be utilized in a typical one hour show. The LESS children at the party the MORE you can do…..or you can choose to have the entertainer stay for a longer time.

Sing-a-long musical variety show

This is a great show for young kids……something to please everyone.

There are only a few multi-talented entertainers who are skilled musician/singers (guitar or keyboard)…... so their talents come at a premium. they can offer many of the activities mentioned above…plus they can offer the musical-movement songs that all kids have learned from tv, pre-k, or kindergarten. Kids naturally love to move to music and to sing familiar songs and “shake all their sillies out!”

NON-SCARY CLOWN

This is suggested for children that might feel “uncomfortable” with a clown in full make-up and wig. The entertainer wears minimal make-up, but dresses in a colorful, zany outfit so that everyone knows that the “special,” funny person has arrived.

NON-SCARY “CHARACTER"

Very similar to the above description, but even less “clown-like." The entertainer wears a very colorful outfit so that everyone knows that the "special," funny person has arrived.

“REGULAR” CLOWN

This is a great choice if there is NO PROBLEM WITH ANY CHILDREN FEELING “UNCOMFORTABLE” AROUND AN ATTRACTIVE (NON-GARISH) CLOWN IN FULL MAKE-UP AND WIG.

Age-appropriate, colorful, comedy magic is great for young kids…. with lots of funny audience participation (special attention given to the birthday child). Kids wave the magic wand and say the magic words…..WE MAKE IT LOOK AS IF THE CHILDREN ARE MAKING THE MAGIC HAPPEN! MAGIC IS ALSO GREAT FOR OLDER KIDS ….The magician uses more sophisticated and complex effects in order to hold their attention and gain their appreciation.

EVERYONE ENJOYS A GOOD MAGIC SHOW! Older kids might like an actual “MAGIC LESSON” and learn some tricks to take home and show family and friends. (This really makes them feel “proud” as well as excited!)

This is an excellent choice for older kids who want something “different.” Most people have never seen a “live” ventriloquist make his “dummy” appear real.
This is a very unique and amazing skill and has become popular on TV talent shows. Everyone will long remember the humorous audience interaction and participation.

FORTUNE TELLER

GOOD NEWS ONLY…..HARMLESS FUN FOR EVERYONE!

This is great for older girls who have seen every type of theme there is and want something “different.” Although the fortune tellers are actually “gifted,” they only reveal positive items at a party venue. The girls get a special “kick” out of information about “future boyfriends,” etc. The entertainer can arrive in a colorful gypsy costume and use palmistry and a crystal ball. If time permits, she can give the girls a short lesson in palmistry. This is a really popular choice ….all the kids want to hear everyone elses “future.”

HULA DANCE LESSON…..ALOHA!!!!!!!

THIS IS A PERFECT PARTY FOR ALL GIRLS AGES SIX AND UP.

It is the most delightful “edutainment” program that there is. The kids actually learn real Hawaiian hand movements (sign language) while they are having so much fun. It is easy to obtain little grass skirts and leis as souvenirs for the girls…..the swaying of the skirts helps to accentuate the hip movements. The youngsters have a natural grace and learn some simple dances very quickly. Everyone loves the beautiful and familiar Hawaiian songs….in fact many of the parents actually join in and shake their “hula hips” and wave their “lovely hula hands.” THE BIRTHDAY GIRL IS THE “HAWAIIAN PRINCESS” FOR THE DAY.

BELLY DANCE LESSON......CAN BE COMBINED WITH A JASMINE (ALADIN) THEME

This is a different type of theme for all girls ages seven and up. (Some references to the Jasmine/Aladin story can be included in the presentation, if requested.) Some very basic movements are taught in a simplified and graceful manner. The youngsters love the high energy music and the swirl of veils and learn quickly. This is one of the oldest forms of dance in the world…..and when done correctly it is truly artistic, beautiful…..AND A LOT OF FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
